Recent Buy - Apr 28 2016

Apple Inc. (AAPL)

 10 shares of AAPL at a price of $95.90 + $3.95 comm. = $962.95

I added to AAPL on the dip and Icahn's exit (glad it dropped due to this - not a fan of this guy). I'm close to a full position on AAPL and may add some more if it drops below $92. Hope it stays a dividend growth stock for a few more years. Excited for iPhone 7 and possibly a better Apple Watch (PS: not an Apple Fanboy)

Starbucks (SBUX)

 4 shares of SBUX at a price of $57.60 = $230.40

I initiated a very small position on the dip. Not a very good price I would have hoped for, but would love to buy more if it goes cheaper. SBUX valuations listed below.

Funny that divhut just a recent comment on SBUX. Hope he would have bought on this deip as well :)

Recent Buys - Apr 19 2016

EAT (Brinker International Inc.)

3 shares of EAT at $44.01 = $132.03

Averaged down a bit. May buy some more after some more research.

Non dividend purchase:

NFLX (Netflix Inc)

A risky purchase that I may not hold for long. But very bullish on the business model even-though other content providers are stepping up the streaming business.

5 shares of Netflix Inc at an average of $96.61 = $483.05

Total Amount = $615.08

Long on EAT. Thanks for reading. Please add your comments on these buys.

Recently Sold - Apr 14 2016

I rarely sell. But needed to. Also missed selling GPS when I was up about 20%. So need to be more proactive and look at dividend announcements/history more often.

I sold 12% of my BBL shares due to poor performance and dividend cut. Looks like they have gone up a bit :) May sell a few more

20 shares of BBL at $25.65 = $513

I wanted to sell all my shares of NOV following the dividend cut, but haven't yet due to commissions. May revisit soon and sell them all. Still hold about 50 shares

6 shares of NOV at $29.30
 = $175.80

Total proceeds = $688.80

Short on NOV and BBL (small % of my total holdings). Thanks for reading. Please add your comments on these sells.

Wells Fargo & Company (WFC)

21 shares of WFC at a price of $47.26 + $3.95 comm. = $996.41

WFC is considered one of the better and safe banks in the US. I initiated a very small position few months back and added at almost the same price now. WFC valuations listed below.

Vanguard FTSE All-World Ex-US ETF Shares (VEU)

4 shares of VEU at an price of $41.90 =  $167.60

Recent ETF Purchases - 04/05/16 and 04/06/2016

I'm compelled to buy ETFs in my 401K account to avoid commisions. I try to buy Vanguard ETFs (some risky as my previous post) that have low fees.

Vanguard Value ETF Shares (VTV)

4 shares of VTV at an price of $81.50 =  $326.00

Vanguard Total World Stock ETF Shares (VT)

4 shares of VT at an price of $56.60. =  $226.40

I like the top ten holdings of both ETF portfolios (they are mostly similar and account for 30% of the portfolio), but I guess the rest 70% are what matters. I haven't looked at them.

Total Investments =  $552.40

Long all ETFs listed above. Thanks for reading.

Recent Purchases - Apr 1 2016

Few of my limit orders (set few days back) were hit today as the market was down in the morning.

Lesson learned: Be Patient. In the past I have canceled some limit orders after a few days, and then they hit the limit. One of the painful ones that I remember was EV @ $26.99. Hopefully it will drop to that price point some day soon.

Cullen Frost Bankers (CFR)

18 shares of CFR at an price of $53.50 + $3.95 comm.. =  $966.95

This one of the stocks I bought earlier (few months back), saw it drop 24% more, unfortunate not to buy at that time. Hope it drops some more :)

Vanguard FTSE Europe Index Fund ETF Shares (VGK)

5 shares of VGK at an price of $48.20. =  $241.00

One of my risky investments. Hopefully Europe will come back in the future.

Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets Index Fund ETF Shares (VEA)

10 shares of VEA at an price of $35.63. =  $356.30

Another risky investment on Europe.

Total Investments =  $1564.25
